Background
Heya! My name is Jade, and I've been passionate about games, music and music in games for most of my life now. While this interest was little more than a hobby throughout most of my education, when deciding on a University course to pursue I decided to go all in on this passion of mine and acquire my dream degree: Music Composition and Technology for Film and Games. In other words, a degree in film and video game music!
I'm still fresh out of University, but I've been working on building up my portfolio, and that includes taking on commissions and contributing to projects, providing music that will help them truly shine.
Workflow and Inspirations
I mainly work within FL Studio, but I also have experience in Logic Pro and ProTools, as well as middleware such as FMod. I also have experience in the game engines themselves, namely UE4 and Unity (I'm self taught in C# at a basic level). My main instrumentation comes from soundfonts, but I have access to higher quality instruments should the project demand them.
Most of my inspiration comes from RPGs/JRPGs, with composers such as Masashi Hamauzu, Nobuo Uematsu, Kenji Hiramatsu, Toby Fox, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Cristopher Larkin being particular inspirations of mine. I'm a huge fan of pretty much any video game with good music, with my top favourite soundtracks being Hollow Knight Silksong, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. There are MANY others besides those though, and I'm always eager to chat about them if people are willing to listen to me ramble!
